    Distance covered = 16 kilometers

    Displacement = 0 kilometers

    Explanation:

    Distance is defined as the total path length covered and it cannot be zero for a moving object.

    Displacement is defined as the distance between the initial and final positions and it may or may not be zero for a moving object.

    Here Sophee returns to her house and thus her displacement is zero.

    She walks 3 kilometers north, 5 kilometers east, 3 kilometers south and then 5 kilometers west.

    So the total distance covered = 3 + 5 + 3 + 5 = 16 kilometers.

    So the distance travelled by her is 16 kilometers and the displacement is 0 kilometers.
