A 20.5 kg box initially at rest is pushed 5.93 m along a rough, horizontal floor with a constant applied horizontal force of 95.3501 N. If the coefficient of friction between box and floor is 0.389, find the work done by the applied force.

    W = 565.42 J

    Explanation:

    Given that

    mass, m = 20.5 kg

    displacement = 5.93 m

    Applied force, F = 95.3501 N

    Coefficient of friction,μ = 0.389

    We know that work done by force F is given as

    W = F. d

    d=Displacement

    F=Force

    W=Work

    W = 95.3501 x 5.93 J

    W = 565.42 J

    Therefore the work done by applied force will be 565.42 J.
