1) Harold pushed a 10 kg box to the right with 7 Newtons of force. Jerome pulled the same box to the right with 7 Newtons of force. Are the forces on the box balanced? Will the box accelerate?

    Given dа ta:

    mass of box = 10 kg,

    Force (F1) = 7 N, (push towards rightside)

    Force (F2) = 7 N (Pulled towards right side)

    It is clear from the question that the two forces are acting in the same direction, so the box will accelerates.

    Total force (F) = 7+7 = 14N.

    According to Newtons II law F=m. a

    14 = 10 * a

    a = 1.4 m/s2

    The box accelerates with 1.4 m/s2
