    The masses of the two identical spheres are, M = 1.47 x 10¹³ kg

    Explanation:

    Given data,

    The distance of separation of to identical spheres, d = 10 m

    The first sphere exerts a surface gravity on the second sphere is, g = 0.0050 m/s²

    The second sphere exerts a surface gravity on the first sphere is, g = 0.0050 m/s²

    The formula for surface gravity is,

    g = GM/d²

    ∴ M = gd² / G

    Substituting the values

    M = 9.8 x 10² / 6.673 x 10⁻¹¹

    = 1.47 x 10¹³ kg

    Hence the masses of the two identical spheres are, M = 1.47 x 10¹³ kg
