Yes, there are still questions about the atom that scientists try to find the answer to. For example, when the atom was first discovered they thought it was the smallest part of matter, but atoms are actually made up of even smaller particles, such as quarks, that we don't know much about and are still being researching.

Yes, because scientists still do not know absolutely everything about atoms and they are trying to learn more about them.
