    Let the speed of one train be s.

    Speed of second train is s + 10

    The speeds will add since they are traveling towards one another.

    Distance = speed x time

    speed = distance / time

    s + s + 10 = (240/1.6)

    s = 70 mph

    Speed of first train is 70 mph

    Speed of second train is 80 mph
