How can the creation of ice result in physical weathering?

    Ice can result into physical weathering by the fact that as water turns solid the volume expands which would put much pressure to the container or where it is enough to maybe make a crack and eventually break it. Physical weathering refers to processes that result to the breaking of rocks.
