Sunspots -
This is temporary phenomena on the Sun's surface, which appears to be darker than other surrounding areas.
The Sunspots in the visible light appears dark, because, the area are quite cooler than rest of the surface on the Sun.
The temperature of these sunspots is around 3500°C i. e. 6300°F,
and the temperature of the other part on the surface of the Sun is 5500°C, i. e., 10000°F.
Hence,
Due to the cooler region on the sunspot, with respect to the other surface on the sun, it appears darker.
