How many atoms are there in the basis for the diamond crystal structure?

    In most cases, a diamond consists of a crystal structure that contains a face-centered cubic Bravais lattice and two atoms in the basis. Each carbon atom indexes with 4 different carbon atoms taking the shape of triangular prisms or regular tetrahedrons. in regular tetrahedrons (triangular prisms)
