A physics student who is studying velocity and acceleration makes the following statement: "if an object is slowing down, its speed is gradually decreasing. That means that it's acceleration must be negative." Would you agree with this statement?

    I would agree with the statement.

    Explanation:

    If an object is slowing down, it is covering less distance per unit time and as a result its speed decreases. If acceleration is positive, the object would speed up instead of slowing down.
