A noisy toy is placed in a glass jar. All the air is then slowly removed from the jar. How does this affect the sound you hear? The sound of the toy increases until it reaches its maximum. The sound of the toy decreases and then stops. The sound of the toy is not affected. The sound of the toy increases and decreases periodically.

    The sound would decrease because the sound waves have nothing to bounce against.
