Short Circuit: a circuit with little to no resistance.

Open Circuit: a circuit that is not a continuous loop; therefore, current cannot flow through.

Closed Circuit: a complete circuit that allows current to flow through conductive material continuously.

"short circuit to an open circuit." The circuit was connected--she disconnected it.

"open circuit to a closed circuit." The circuit was incomplete--she connected it somehow.

"closed circuit to an open circuit." The circuit was continuous--she broke it.
