Marissa drags a 23 kg duffel bag 18 m across the gym floor. if the coefficient of kinetic friction between the floor and bag is 0.15, how much thermal energy does marissa create?

    The work done by friction would be equal to the thermal energy.

    23 * 9.8 = 225.4 N

    225.4 *.15 = 33.81 N is the Force of friction

    33.81 * 18 = 608.58 J of work done by friction is now also 608.58 J of thermal energy.
