A jetliner is traveling east from Seattle to Chicago, a distance of 1,750 miles. The jetliner travels at an average air speed of 620 mph relative to the air. At the jetliner's altitude, the wind is blowing 46 mph to the east. How long does the journey take?

    Speed of aircraft relative to air Va=620 mph Tail wind Vw=46 mph (as it's flowing in same direction of aircraft) Distance=1750 mph Ground speed of airplane = Va + Vw = 620+46 mph = 666 mph Time taken = Distance/speed = 1750/666 hours = 2.63 Hrs
