Heat is the total energy of molecular motion in a substance, however temperature is simply the measurement of the average energy of motion in that substance. Heat is the energy created by the motion of molecules in the object. Temperature take the average of that kinetic energy and estimates it.

When you cook a steak you can use either a convection oven or a pan to cook it. As the meat absorbs the heat, it cooks within and the temperature rises as it cooks. Once the steak's temperature stops rising, the cooking process stops within the steak. As the steak cooks, the heat also is lost since it has somewhere to go other than the steak. When you finish cooking a steak, you check the temperature to see how well cooked it is. During this time you get an average estimate as to the kinetic energy that took place during the cooking process. When you wait for the steak to cool down, the heat escapes from the substance and in turn the temperature drops. You are now ready to eat your cooked steak.

    Explanation:

Temperature is the estimated measurement of the average kinetic energy of molecules in a substance.

Temperature rises when the substance is heated and it falls when that substance is cooled down.

Heat flows from hot to cold, so when Temperature drops, it means that the kinetic energy is dispersed from the substance.
