The atom of most solid vibrate in a fixed location while the aton of liquid move about.

    Explanation:

The solid particles are highly closed packed together and have a definite shape and volume which tends to confined the vibration of its atom in place while liquid takes the shape off its container because particle in a liquid can flow to new locations. This allow liquid atoms to move about its container.
