At what depth does the transition from the upper mantle to the lower mantle occur?

    The mantle is the most solid part of the Earth’s interior. The upper mantle is the region from the crust to depth of 410 km. From here to 660 km is the transition mantle. In this region the rocks are radically transformed.

    After this the lower mantle begins.
