In this question, you are given the initial speed (1 m/s), final speed (2.57m/s) and the acceleration rate (0.08 m/s2). From this information, you could determine the duration that the whale swimming. The calculation would be:

Duration of swiming = (final speed - initial speed) / acceleration rate

    Duration of swiming = (2.57m/s - 1 m/s) / 0.08m/s^2 = 19.625 second.

Knowing the duration, you can determine the whale swimming distance by using this formula:

    whale swimming distance = average speed * duration = (2.57m/s + 1m/s) / 2 * 19.625s = 35.030625 meter.
