    482 kg m/s

    Explanation:

    Momentum before = momentum after

    m₁ u₁ + m₂ u₂ = m₁ v₁ + m₂ v₂

    (282) (3.50) + (155) (-1.80) = (282) (0.800) + (155) v

    987 - 279 = 225.6 + 155v

    v = 3.11 m/s

    The momentum of the car is:

    p = mv

    p = (155 kg) (3.11 m/s)

    p = 482 kg m/s
