    -20 kg. m/s

    Explanation:

    We have an object moving at 5 m/s with mass 5 kg. The initial momentum is:

    pi = m * vi

    pi = 5 kg * 5 m/s = 25 kg. m/s

    It undergoes a quick collision with some other object and now moves at 1 m/s. The final momentum is:

    pf = m * vf

    pf = 5 kg * 1 m/s = 5 kg. m/s

    The change in the object's momentum is:

    Δp = pf - pi

    Δp = 5 kg. m/s - 25 kg. m/s = - 20 kg. m/s
