    W = - ΔE

    Explanation:

    First law of thermodynamics:

    This law is also known as energy conservation law. According to this law the total energy of isolated system will be constant.

    From first law of thermodynamics

    Q = W + ΔE

    Q = Heat transfer

    W=Total work (Mechanical work, Electrical work ...)

    ΔE = Total energy (Kinetic energy, Internal energy ...)

    As we know that in adiabatic process there no any heat transfer. It means that Q = 0

    So for an adiabatic process

    Q = W + ΔE

    Q = 0

    0 = W + ΔE

    W = - ΔE
