Liz puts a 1 kg weight and a 10 kg on identical sleds. She then applies a 10N force to each sled. Describe why the smaller weight has a larger acceleration. A) There is same amount force is applied to both sleds. B) The acceleration is directly proportional to the force. C) It indicates the extent of the unbalanced forces present. D) Acceleration depends indirectly on the mass of the object.

    By definition we have that force equals mass by acceleration. Mathematically this can be seen as:

    F = m * a

    We have to clear the acceleration:

    a = F / m

    Therefore, if the force is the same, the sled with less mass will have greater acceleration.

    answer:

    A) There is same amount of money applied to both

    B) The acceleration is directly proportional to the force

    D) Acceleration depends indirectly on the mass of the object.
