The water in the plumbing in a house is at a gauge pressure of 350,000 pa. what force does this cause on the top of the tank inside a water heater if the area of the top is 0.9 m2? (ignore atmospheric pressure.)

    Use P=F/a

    whereas P = 350000 and a=.9m2

    substitute into the formula we get

    350000=f/.9m2 multiply. 9 on both sides as LHS=RHS WE get 315000 Newtons as the answer
