    Elastic potential energy. its easy, think of it like this. when your shooting a rubber band at them, when you stretch the rubber band it increases the potential energy, and when you let go the potential energy converts into kinetic energy which makes it move. when a rubber band snaps, it means it cant handle all the pressure and potential energy.
