It can increase heart health, muscle strength, and stamina. Yet, if the sport is violent enough, (I. E. has a good amount of physical contact or cause stress to your bones and cartilage) it can cause life long joint damage and cartilage loss, plus there is always the risk of heart failure that comes with raising your heart rate to it's maximum. Concluding, it is good to play sports regularly but there will always be a chance of injury and or death.
