    The beta decay is the radioactive process in which proton is converted into neutron then there is decrease in proton number this beta decay is called positron emission beta plus decay.

    If the neutron is changing into proton which means there is an increase in proton number these decay is called beta minus decay.

    Therefore, by the above discussion it can be say that a radioactive decay or can say that nuclear reaction which result in a nuclei with greater than or lesser proton that the initial nuclei is called transmutation.
