When a wave pulse on a string reflects from a boundary, how is the reflected pulse related to the incident pulse?

    a portion of the energy carried by the incident pulse is reflected and returns toward the left end of the thin rope (less dense to more dense); speed and wavelength are the same as the incident pulse
