    x₀ = initial position of the Mrs. smith = 0 m

    since Mrs. smith finally reach her daughter's house

    x = final position of Mrs. smith = 23.5 m

    d = displacement of Mrs. smith

    displacement of Mrs. smith is given as

    d = x - x₀

    inserting the values

    d = 23.5 - 0

    d = 23.5 m

    t = time of the trip = 17 min = 17 x 60 sec = 1020 sec

    average velocity of Mrs. smith is given as

    V = d/t

    inserting the values

    V = 23.5 / 1020

    V = 0.023 m/s
