Is it possible for you to take a hike and have the distance you cover be equal to the magnitude of your displacement?

    Distance can never be greater than displacement, but they CAN be equal.

    Distance and displacement are equal IF the motion is in a straight line.

    No, the magnitude of the displacement is the distance you are away from the print of origin (or where ever you are measuring from)
