A child throws a steel ball straight up. consider the motion of the ball after it has left the child's hand but before it touches the ground, and assume that forces exerted by the air are negligible. for these conditions, identify the force (s) acting on the ball.

    Since the question is asking us to consider the motion of the ball after it leaves the child's hand and before it touches the ground, in addition to directing us to ignore air resistance, the only force that shall be acting is the force due to gravity on the ball i. e. its Weight.
