A student hypothesizes that since elements in the same row have the same number of energy levels, they should behave the same in chemical reactions. Explain why you agree or disagree with this hypothesis.

    Disagree.

    Because the elements in the same row have different number of electrons in the external shell and the electrons in the external shells are the ones that participate iin the chemial reactions; then different number of electrons in external shells predict diferent behavior in chemical reactions.
