    However, multiple choice letter b is also technically correct. Scientific theories are not ever proved in the sense of being determined to be 100% accurate. They are either disprove, nor they are never disproved. But theories that have mounds of supporting evidence and have stood the test of time, not yet being discredited by any critics, can be considered "proved" just for practical purposes.

    Examples are, plate tectonics, evolution, gravity, atomic theory, the germ theory of disease, relativity, quantum theory, electromagnetic theory, layered Earth theory, etc.
