2. A student fires a 0.07 kg arrow at an object with mass m that is initially at rest on a frictionless surface. The speed of the arrow before the collision is 90 m/s. The speed when the arrow emerges from the object is v. What is the resulting velocity of the object?

    Object mass m = 1.5 kg Arrow emerging velocity v = 75 m/s

    (0.07kg) (90m/s) + (1.5kg) (0m/s) = (0.07kg) (75m/s) + (1.5kg) (V2)

    (6.3) + (0) = (5.25) + (1.5) (V2)

    1.05 = (1.5) (V2)
