When a pendulum is held high and taut and then is released, the pendulum begins to swing. What's the correct order of the energy transformations

    For the answer to the question above, when you lift it up it's called potential energy. The higher you lift it the most potential energy you give it. When you release the mass it moves down and the potential energy you gave it starts changing into kinetic energy. There is always the same amount of energy (neglecting friction), it just changes from potential to kinetic. There is kinetic energy as long as there is the movement of the mass.
