Consider the static equilibrium diagram below. What is the net force acting along the positive x-axis?

    Static equilibrium occurs when there is no motion or when the system is at rest. There is no net property. If the system if a free body diagram, then for static equilibrium to occur, there must be no net force along the x-axis, y-axis and even in the z-axis.
