A ball is placed on a table. here the height of table is 12m, the mass of the ball is m=2000gm and the radius of the ball is 2m. Also observe a tank filled with liquid (p=1g/cm3) is placed beside the table. The height of the tank from the ground till the surface of water is 1.5m. Calculate the Force due to gravity (Fg) acting on the ball.

    19.62 N

    Explanation:

    Force acting due to gravity Fg is given by Fg=mg where m is mass in kilograms and g is acceleration due to gravity, normally a constant taken as 9.81

    The mass is given in grams hence to convert into Kg we divide by 1000. Therefore, mass will be 2000/1000=2 kg

    Substituting 2 kg for mass and 9.81 for acceleration due to gravity then the force due to gravity will be equivalent to

    Fg=2*9.81=19.62 N
