    Tug of war is a game where by there are two sides pulling a rope. So, if both sides applied equal forces. I. e both of them are pulling with same same Force.

    Force from team 1 = F1

    Force from team 2 = F2

    Then, F1 = F2 = F

    So, if this happens we expect none of the teams to win, and then the body will be in equilibrium, so no acceleration.

    Then net force will be zero

    Since from newton second law

    Fnet = ma

    Since the body is in equilibrium, then a = 0

    Then, Fnet = 0 N

    So the net force is zero.

    Or

    Summation of force acting on the rope

    Fnet = F1 - F2

    They are opposite forces, then one of them have to be negative

    Since F1 = F2 = F

    Fnet = F-F

    Fnet = 0 N
