    The statement (E) given in the question is the incorrect statement. Since linear molecule comprises of two different atoms which can further have a net dipole moment. This moment will generally result from an unstable distribution of electrons. They also tend to occur when there is a segregation of charge. They arise from changes in their respective electronegativity.
