An object weighs 432 n on the surface of the earth. the earth has radius r. if the object is raised to a height of 3r above the earth's surface, what is its weight

    As the force due to gravity decreases by the square of the radius, the force is due to gravity at 3r above the surface (3r+r=4r) will be (1/4) 2 = 1/16 that at the surface of the earth. (432 N) (1/16) = 27N

    The answer is 27N
