A helium weather balloon is inflated so that the pressure inside is at Earth's atmospheric pressure (approximately 101 kPa). If the balloon is then released on a planet whose thin atmosphere results in a pressure inside the balloon that is half that of Earth's atmospheric pressure, what will happen to the balloon's volume?

    The volume of the balloon wil increase to the double of the initial volume.

    Explanation:

    p2 = p1/2

    p1*v1 = p2*v2

    p1*v1 = p1/2 * v2

    p1*v1 / p1/2 = v2

    2 * v1 = v2
