    Potential energy = Mass m x Acceleration due to gravity g x height h

    In this case,

    Mass of crate = 12.6 kg

    Acceleration due to gravity = 9.8m/s^2

    Height above factory floor = 4.9 metres

    P. E = mgh

    = 12.6kg x 9.8m/s^2 x 4.9m

    = 605.052 = (605 joules of energy approximately)

    Thus, the potential energy of the crate is 605 joules
