    2 m/s²

    Explanation:

    Acceleration: This can be defined as the rate of change of velocity. The S. I unit of acceleration is m/s²,

    The expression for acceleration in therms of force and mass is given as,

    Fn = ma ... Equation 1

    Where Fn = net force, m = mass, a = acceleration

    But

    Fn = F-F' ... Equation 2

    Where F = Horizontal applied force, F' = Frictional force

    Substituting equation 2 into equation 1

    F-F' = ma ... Equation 3

    making a the subject of the equation

    a = (F-F') / m ... Equation 4

    Given: F = 30 N, F' = 10 N, m = 10 kg

    Substitute into equation 4

    a = (30-10) / 10

    a = 20/10

    a = 2 m/s²

    Hence the acceleration = 2 m/s²
