What is the centripetal acceleration of the moon around the earth, realizing that the gravitational force is the centripetal force?

    For the answer to the question above,

    the formula for centripetal acceleration is:

    centripetal acceleration = v^2/r

    velocity has to be in m/s

    radius has to be in m

    radius = 385,000 km = 385,000,000 m

    velocity = 1030 m/s

    so ...

    centripetal acceleration = v^2/r

    => [ (1030m/s) ^2]/385,000,000m

    => 0.0027 m/s^2
