What is the main difference between an isotope and an ion?

    Isotopes are atoms of a chemical element with a different number of Neutrons in the nucleus.

    Ex. Carbon C as: C-12, C-13 and C-14 (6, 7 and 8 Neutrons)

    Ions are atoms (or even molecules) that lost (or acquired) an Electron.

    Ex. Na + and Cl-
