A basketball is inflated to a pressure of 1.10 atm in a 28.0°C garage. What is the pressure of the basketball outside where the temperature is - 2.00°C?

    Explanation:

    T1 = 28.0°C = 301.15°K

    T2 = - 2.0°C = 271.15°K

    P1 = 1.10 atm

    P2 = ?

    P1/T1 = P2/T2

    P2T1 = P1T2

    P2 = P1T2/T1

    P2 = 1.10*271.15/301.15

    P2 = 0.99 atm
