What is the speed of light in a material if the index of refraction is 1.52? Use 3.00 x 10^8 m/s for the speed of light in a vacuum.

    Speed of light in a medium = speed of light in vacuum / refractive index

    = 3 x 10⁸ / 1.52

    = 1.97 x 10⁸ m / s.
