According to Newton's 1st law, objects at rest has no velocity so it doesn't move and a distance is zero.

Newton's 1st law (or the law of inertia) is often stated as

An object at rest stays at rest and an object in motion stays in motion with the same speed and in the same direction unless acted upon by an unbalanced force.
