    The convertible will be ahead at a distance from its initial position, d = 1.336 m

    Explanation:

    Given,

    The speed of the convertible, v = 13 Km/h

    = 3.61 m/s

    A ball thrown with a speed, u = 3.6 m/s

    The angle of the velocity of a ball formed with the horizontal, Φ = 30°

    The time of flight of the projectile is given by the formula,

    T = 2u sin Ф / g

    = 2 x 3.6 x 0.5 / 9.8

    = 0.37 s

    The displacement of the car,

    d = v x t

    = 3.6 x 0.37

    = 1.336 m

    Hence, the convertible will be ahead at a distance from its initial position, d = 1.336 m
