Is it possible for a car to be accelerating to the west while it is driving to the east? Either explain why it is not possible, or explain how you would do it.

    Yes, it is possible.

    Explanation:

    Since acceleration is a vector quantity therefore it is possible that a driver driving to the east decelerates the speed of car and hence its acceleration in the east direction is negative which can be represented as positive acceleration in the west by reversing the direction of vector.

    It is possible only for the case when the driver is driving in the east direction engages the reverse gear and accelerates the car then its speed in the east starts decreasing and after sometimes it increases in the west direction.
