Lenticular or rotor clouds are caused by the wavy flow of the wind at the top of the mountains. On the other hand, cumulonimbus clouds are caused by strong currents carrying heavily-condensed water vapor. Lastly, stratus clouds are formed by a wide layer of surface air moving up in the atmosphere forming a consistent layer.
